Simon Cowell has signed X Factor boyband 5 After Midnight to his record label Syco Music.
The vibrant three-piece - Kieran Alleyne (21), Jordan Lee (21) and Nathan Lewis (24) - were finalists on The X Factor 2016 and were the leading group in the series. Mentored by Louis Walsh, they proved week after week to an average TV audience of more than 7.5m why they are the UK’s next superstar pop group.
Nathan said: “What an honour it is to be working with the best label in the business. This is a dream come true.”
Jordan said: “To say that we are part of a roster that includes artists such as One Direction and Little Mix is just incredible.”
Kieran said: “We want to thank our supporters and can't wait to give them new music, our music”
Tyler Brown, Managing Director, Syco Music said: “It is very rare that a group can sing, dance and perform at a level that 5 After Midnight do. We will be making a record that enables them to fully showcase their huge talent.”
5 After Midnight first auditioned in London in early July and went on to finish third in the competition. Speaking of the band during the series, Simon Cowell said: “They are energetic. They can sing and dance. They are what people want.”
The band will join winner Matt Terry on The X Factor Arena Tour, a 21-day nationwide run beginning in Nottingham on February 23. They will subsequently go into the recording studio to begin working on material for their first release.
