Simon Cowell couldn't hide his admiration for Mandy Harvey when she performed a self penned song on America's Got Talent.
With her shoes off to feel the tempo through the floor, Harvey performed an original song called "Try" for the judges. "After I lost my hearing, I gave up, but I want to do more with my life than just give up," she shared of the song's meaning.
Mandy explained that she lost her hearing when she was 18 years old due to a connective tissue disorder. "I've been singing since I was 4," she revealed. "I left music after I lost my hearing, and then figured out how to get back into singing with muscle memory, using visual tuners, and trusting my pitch."
Simon Cowell was so moved Mandy received his Golden Buzzer.
After her audition Simon said: "Honestly, I never think I'm gonna be surprised or amazed by people, and then you turn up," Cowell said, adding, "We found each other."
