Simon Cowell attended the annual star studded Daily Mirror Pride of Britain awards on Monday night at the Grosvenor hotel in london.
Simon has long been a supporter of these awards having sat on the judging panel in previous years and always attends the event when in the country.
On the night he presented the Lidl Young fundraiser award to Amelia Gebruers who Simon described as quite simply the bravest person he had ever met.
"What she has done is incredible and we are inviting her down to the show. She is a brilliant young girl."
Simon dismissed rumours of a fall out with fellow judge Nick Grimshaw.
Over the weekend, Nick was noticeably absent from the last two segments of The X Factor , prompting an angry reaction from viewes.
At the end of the show, Simon and the judges had to get the contestants down to about “15 for each” group for the next stage, the 6 Chair Challenge.
Nick missed this stage but instead joined the trio on a video call before Simon, seemingly annoyed, abruptly cut him off.
Talking about the moment he slammed the laptop shut during the call, Simon told The Daily Mirror "I sent him a text last night to apologise. I didn't know they were going to put that in the show. That was quite embarrassing. It was meant as a joke but it didn't quite come across in that way."
Talking about the rumours about Nick possibly leaving the show, Simon said 'Just for the record, there's always all this stuff about, we're getting rid of people, we're not happy. I am happy."
"I love the show this year. I love Olly and Caroline. I love the judges. We're always planning different things but no one is leaving the show."
While talking about the rumours of a fifth judge, he added: "We always had an idea about maybe doing that with different people on the live shows, so we'll see. It's going to be an interesting couple of weeks."
The Pride of Britain Awards will screen on ITV Thursday. More pics on our PHOTO PAGE
