Britain's Got Talent changes the format for the live shows

Britain's Got Talent returned to our screens with auditions from Blackpool on Saturday 22nd February. Simon Cowell joined Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, Bruno Tonioli, Ant and Dec with KSI as a guest judge.

The auditions will continue until Saturday 19th April with the live shows starting on Saturday 26th April. We are used to watching the live shows daily over a week - culminating in the final.

This year however, the live shows will be screened every Saturday through to the live final on Saturday 31st May,

Lily Wilson, the Commissioning Editor for Entertainment at ITV said: "We want to hit that family audience. Starting in February means we can build excitement over a longer period while making the live semi-finals a much bigger event."
